Following the Prime Ministers announcement this evening, we will be taking a few days to come to terms with the new lockdown measures and guidance that will be in place from Thursday 5th November.
We will be digesting and analysing the new measures, and updating our current Covid health and safety guidelines in accordance. We will be contacting all clients from Monday to update them on these measures and alter training plans where necessary.
Although this is not the news we would like to be receiving, we understand the need for the lockdown. Please remember to be kind to one another; this is a challenging time for all, especially for the self-employed and small businesses who have only just been able to reopen.
We’re all in this together. We are strong. And we will overcome this.
On a slightly more positive note: we will still be proceeding with our exciting announcement tomorrow!
How is it August already?! Honestly, where has the time gone!
I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to all our amazing customers, who have been nothing less than supportive throughout these unpredictable times.
I have spent an agonising amount of time reading government and industry guidelines in order to ensure the services I provide are COVID compliant and safe - the safety of our clients is paramount to us, and we will never compromise on this. It is for this reason that I have made the difficult decision to postpone all group classes for 2020. With the uncertainty of the virus, I feel this is the most responsible decision to make. If we are put into a second lockdown, it would break my heart to have to cancel the classes and let you all down like that.
But, it’s not all bad news!
I understand how important it is to set your puppy up for success by enrolling them onto a good quality training program - which is why we are now providing all our training services on a one-to-one basis, in a COVID safe manner. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for more information on these services, which we will be releasing over the next few weeks.
Thank you all, once again, for your support, kind words and understanding over the last 6 months, we are truly so incredibly thankful. We are excited to be opening back up for business and can’t wait to see you all again!

We hope you are all keeping well and staying safe! I wanted to give you a little update as to our plan, with the latest easing of lockdown restrictions in England.
Regrettably, we are unable to resume normal services for the foreseeable future. We have been closely following the government and industry guidelines to see how the changes will affect us and how we can continue to offer our services. This doesn’t mean we are completely shut though! While we are unable to offer walking and group training classes, we are still open for behaviour and training services, albeit in a slightly different format!
All behaviour and training services are offered on a 1-2-1 basis, tailored to YOUR goals. This can be delivered via an online platform (such as zoom) or at a safe, socially distanced outdoor space. All in-person training requires PPE to be worn for our protection as well as yours. If you wish to schedule an in-person training session, we will ask you to complete a health and safety form - we will go over this in more detail when booking!
We have also updated our WEBSITE! You are now able to book services, schedule session, and pay online! Payments can be made via bank transfer, or we can send you a physical invoice like we previously sent. We hope this offers greater flexibility and ease when booking. The services we offer have also been updated, so be sure to take a look!

With the new guidelines that have been published and the easing of lock-down coming into place, we wanted to update you all on our current situation in regards to COVID-19.
Unlike other local businesses, we regret to say that we will not be able to undergo a soft reopening. Unfortunately, we must remain closed in order to protect a vulnerable family member, who we are shielding from the virus. This is an incredibly difficult time for all and we truly hope you understand. As things are at the moment, we will be reviewing our situation on 4th July, when the next easing of lock-down measures are put in place.
We are so incredibly thankful for all the love and support that we have received in these unprecedented times. It truly means the world to us.

After much soul searching and with a heavy heart we are regretfully stopping all walking services from 21st March.
We have a family member who has a compromised immune system and as such, we will all be following self-isolation and stricter social distancing alongside them in order to reduce the risk to them.
Please if you have any questions get in touch. This is such a scary, horrible time for all.
This is not goodbye! We will be running online classes and courses which can be completed even in isolation or quarantine. We will also be hosting a range of live streams and Q&A's. Please keep supporting us during this pandemic. We have worked so incredibly hard and will not let this get us down!

I just wanted to give you a little update regarding the situation surrounding Covid-19. We have already made the decision to cancel our group classes as a preventative measure to reduce the spread of the virus and to limit the risk of exposure. Following the latest advice from the UK Government we are also implementing the following:
1) We will be using our leads. This will reduce the contact from us to your equipment.
2) We will be wearing gloves for the duration of the visit. Again, this will reduce contact.
3) We will be washing and sanitising our hands before and after the walk/visit.
4) We will be removing footwear and outerwear before entering the property. All outerwear will be washed daily and footwear sanitised.
5) If you are at home during the scheduled visit, please have your dog(s) ready to be collected for walking. This includes having them in their collars/harnesses and having their leads attached.
6) If you are at home for the scheduled visit, please remain 2 meters away at all times (ensuring social distancing measures are in place).
7) If you are showing ANY signs or symptoms of Covid-19 PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP. Regrettably, we are unable to tend to clients who are quarantined.
These measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of us here at The Wantage Pet Company and towards you, our clients. In the unfortunate event of myself showing symptoms of Covid-19, or if the government call for more stringent isolation protocols, we will have to cease all walking. If you have any questions about these measures, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

In light of the current global situation, we have made the decision to postpone our group classes and workshops. All current classes are still going ahead and will finish on the scheduled date.
Walking services will remain the same, however, if you have any symptoms of the Coronavirus please do let us know so we can put appropriate measures in place to ensure our safety. 1-2-1 behaviour consultations will go ahead as planned, as long as you are symptom-free.
All affected classes/ workshops/ consultations will be rearranged for a more appropriate time - for those who have booked onto such services this will be transferred to the new date(s). However, if you would prefer a refund we are also happy to do so.
